  • Life's Clock is wound but once!

Another highlight of Winter Camp.  While we were fellowshipping after Friday's night service till the wee hour of 1-2 am of Saturday.  One Brother had on his heart to really share his testimony to a younger Brother.  He quoted Life's Clock partially and then went on (at that point I tracked it down on the net, but listened for the right opportunity to present it).  All throughout the testifying the Brother seemed to empahsize being pulled towards serving God.  Finally as things wound down I read the following:

    Life's Clock
The clock of life is wound but once,
And no man has the power
To tell just where the hands will stop
    At late or early hour.

To lose one's wealth is sad indeed:
To lose one's health is more:
To lose one's soul is such a loss
    As no man can restore.

The present only is our own,
Live, Love, toil with a will --
Place no faith in 'tomorrow' --
For the clock may then be still.

We then concluded the night on that note.

Just before the ministers got up and testified.  Two Brothers sang this song.

At night I lay in bed
      and I begin to cry
    And my mind just fails
      to know exactly why
I can't explain with tongue or pen
      the Spirit's groanings deep within
It must be God here in my soul
      'cause I feel the pull

    Chorus
I feel the pull, I hear the call
and I know His Spirit's moving me
      to give my all
He speaks to me and I agree
Lord please come and take control
      I feel the pull

I went to hear the Word
and with each line and phrase
He was drawing me to give
      a higher praise
There's a deep call to the deep
like a great magnet pulling me
I know for sure I'll reach the goal
      'cause I feel the pull

Which tied in perfectly with the older Brother.  Reflecting back, Saturday night's service was the capping meeting for the younger Brother.  It just seemed like what a lot of us talked to him about, God brought it all back across pulpit that night, starting from the last song "I feel the pull" to what the ministers spoke on.  The younger brother even brought his girl friend (who had never been in church).  He didn't show Sunday morning, but Saturday seemed to his day to hear from heaven.

Oh I got a lot from that service too.  But clearly God was calling specific people.
